Project timeline
How we got here.
Two projects, one story: Surprise Christian Church’s brand, and the platform that grew from Pastor Drew’s vision — Daily Disciple, now Daybreak Disciple.
- Daybreak Disciple
Daily Disciple begins
The project is scaffolded and a vision-survey site goes live for Pastor Drew. Drew completes the survey the same day — his heart, audience, and non-negotiables captured in his own words.
- Daybreak Disciple
First brand directions explored
Four visual directions drafted — Sunrise Walk, Forged, First Light, and Cornerstone — all as proposals to react to.
- Surprise Christian Church
Surprise Christian Church brand — Rev 2 finalized
The SCC brand book is reviewed page by page; the color, type, gradient, and facet system are locked. A verified-facts sheet is created after research found the guide misstated some church details.
- Daybreak Disciple
Vision & brand review site shipped
A single page brings together Drew's vision, the SCC brand work, and the Daily Disciple ideas — the first shared surface for review.
- Daybreak Disciple
Name explorations
A trademark concern surfaces around “Daily Disciple.” Over 100 names across five directions are generated and screened for trademarks, existing brands, domains, and handles.
- Daybreak Disciple
The look is chosen
Pastor Drew approves the Sunrise Walk aesthetic — cedar green, cream, and amber; Fraunces and Inter — and the sunrise logo, now revised to a sun rising out of an open Bible.
- Daybreak Disciple
Renamed: Daybreak Disciple
After a deep dive confirmed it was distinctive and unusually available, Pastor Drew chose Daybreak Disciple. The workspace becomes this shared wiki.
More milestones land here as the work continues — content, channels, and the build.
